At the Government meeting today, it was agreed that the existing arrangements for the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme will continue for the month of October (see here for Press Release from the Department of Finance).

Of particular note for the Early Learning and Care (ELC) and School Age Childcare (SAC) sector, the exemption for registered employers to having to demonstrate a 30% reduction in turnover to qualify for the scheme will be maintained during this period.  The Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme will be paid at enhanced rates for October.

Information about plans for the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme after October will be announced in the context of Budget 2022 on 12th October.
